Founded in 2014, the Greater Oak Brook’s Economic Development Partnership’s Young Business Leaders Group is composed of over 100 successful local employees of member companies representing the best of our talented workforce. The Economic Development Partnership’s leadership of this thriving group aligns with its mission of attracting and retaining talent in our area, in this case with a specific focus on young business professionals. All YBL members have been nominated by their employers based on the criteria below:
- Strong individual performer from 25-35, who supports other members of his/her team, is a good collaborator and demonstrates leadership potential
- Interested in continued professional development
- Interest in gaining knowledge about how the US and local economy work and the important role business plays in creating jobs
The Young Business Leaders group meets quarterly at great locales in the Greater Oak Brook area to hear from local executives on their leadership journeys and to exchange experiences and ideas with each other after each inspirational talk. Opportunities for professional development and civic involvement, including scholarships and training, are also regularly presented to provide further value to group members.
