The Village of Oak Brook and the City of Oakbrook Terrace offer a range of services and incentives to encourage business relocation here. The most significant built-in incentives are the low taxes and business friendly ordinances that are maintained in both communities.
Companies may qualify for financial incentives, which include sales tax, permit fee or other rebates and packages, depending on the number of employees a company has, the number of potential jobs a company brings or creates, the square footage of space a company leases, or the type of property a company plans to develop. Some incentives that may be available: Sales Tax Rebate Agreement, Infrastructure Financing Agreement, and Electricity Aggregation.
Partnership staff are available to assist with the application process, provide information about federal, state and regional government incentives for which a company may be eligible, and to arrange for companies to meet with the government officials and staff who determine eligibility and approve requests.
The Village of Oak Brook and the City of Oakbrook Terrace have also streamlined its departments to provide “one-stop-shop” development review and permitting. The Village and City staff work diligently with companies to ensure that permit or related requests and other necessary applications are expedited quickly and efficiently.
The Partnership will also work with the Park Districts to provide relocating and expanding companies discounted employee membership packages. Through these memberships, employees have access to the fully-equipped and modern Park Districts, which includes a park and jogging path, fitness center, aerobics classes, dance studios and weight training rooms.
Upon relocation, the Greater Oak Brook Economic Development Partnership may provide the employees of each relocating or expanding company welcome packets with a variety of gifts such as fine dining gift cards that may be used at Greater Oak Brook’s finest restaurants and special gifts from local businesses.
