Greater Oak Brook area residents, corporate residents and visitors can benefit from the City of Oakbrook Terrace’s and Village of Oak Brook’s extensive sports and recreation options.
Oak Brook
Situated in the heart of Oak Brook is the village’s 300 acre Sports Core, which includes the Oak Brook Golf Club, as well as the Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club with swimming, banquets/meetings, soccer, tennis and polo facilities. For the golf enthusiast, Oak Brook has two additional golf courses to choose from - Butler National and Butterfield Country Club. The Oak Brook Park District provides excellent outdoor and indoor facilities and more than 150 acres of parks.
In addition, there are three forest preserves located in Oak Brook - Fullersburg Woods (226 acres), Mayslake (90 acres) and York Woods (70 acres) offering bicycling, hiking, picknicking, fishing and horseback riding activities. The Dean Nature Sanctuary in Oak Brook is a “passive park” with a unique combination of ecosystems, with oak savannah, wetland, pond, and praire habitats living in very close proximity.
Oakbrook Terrace
Terrace View Park in Oakbrook Terrace offers an outdoor ice rink, softball field, playground and walking trails. Volleyball and basketball courts, beautiful gardens and plenty of walking trails can be found at Oakbrook Terrace’s Heritage Park.
For bike enthusiasts the William Cizek Walk/Bike Way offers an asphalted two-way traffic lanes.
